Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
His legacy
One of Love

The only legacy Silas left behind is the only one that matters. Love. To love others with a pure heart without contempt or fear of disappointment. To love them as they are, no matter how many faults they may have. He spent his whole life treating each person he touched as though they were the most important person in the world. Always giving of himself and not asking for anything but love in return. If I could live my life even a fraction of how he lived his, then I will find true happiness.

Memories

That time of year is close again
I sit here and remember when
You used to cuddle on my lap
I’d hold you tight and we would chat
You had a language all your own
One of the heart and it was known
No words were needed… it all was clear
Your heart was open, and we could hear
The hidden message in your eyes
The pure devotion in your cries
Your love transcended time and space
All memories of wrong erased
But that’s all gone to yesteryear
No longer can I hold you near
You’ve passed away, far from my grasp
I don’t know how long I can last
Without your love
Without your touch
I miss you baboo, Oh so much
What I really want to say…
I’ll always love you
Forever and a day

My Son, My Angel

This marks a year, that you've been gone
It's been so hard to carry on
Without your tender, warm embrace
The love that beamed upon your face
You shined so bright, it blinded me
And taught me how I aught to be
To love, to care, to cherish, to live
To pour out all you have to give
In every little thing you do
I've learned so very much from you
My angel, my life, my love, my son
The change in me has just begun
I pray for hope, I pray for grace
I'll keep your memory in this place
And everyone I meet will see
The love from you, lives on in me

The boy who taught us love

Silas loved to dance and sing
He would smile and laugh at the silliest things
His curious nature led him to explore
Birds and bugs, the world and more
From balloons to bubbles he found much joy
It was the simplest things that excited this boy

Silas knew a world of love
From his brothers and sister and God up above
From Mommy and Daddy, he found much glee
He would hug them and squeeze them soo joyfully
One hug from his precious arms, and you’d know
He was the most loving boy, in his one boy show
He was the center of attention,
because everyone could see
The love that God gave him, poured out like the sea

Now he has left us, to heaven above
But he’s still in our hearts with his unending love
We will remember Silas each and every day
Because he is in our hearts and he is there to stay
So take a hold of your neighbor and give them a hug
And tell them that
one’s from Silas, the boy full of love

New Grief - Rescue Me

My mind is swimming in thoughts of you.
I'm haunted in every breath I take.
Why did you have to go so soon?
I still need you.

I've aged an eternity since you've been gone.
Each day feels like a thousand.
So weak and broken without you.
Alive, but inside I'm dying.

My heart is aching and full of despair, please save me.
Nothing in this world can take away the pain.
My God, can't you see me cry? Please rescue me.

This world is so full of sadness, yet you overcame it all with love.
Why can't I be more like you?

The sunsets of my dreams are filled with your spirit.
If I could only see you again.
Your image blurred.
I'm in torment.
My memories won't let me see your face.

This sorrow is overwhelming, please save me.
Nothing in this world can take away the pain.
My God, don't you see me weeping? Please rescue me.

If I could only hold you one more time.
And tell you all the things I miss.
I'm sorry for all the mistake's I've made.
Please forgive me.

Never again will I take simple things for granted.
They are worth more than the finest gold.
You taught me so much in the short time I had with you.
I will never forget.

Anxiety has taken over, please save me.
Nothing in this world can take away the pain.
My God, can't you see I'm drowning? Please rescue me.

My Child

You are felt in the raindrops that fall from the skies
You are felt in the tears that fall from my eyes
You are felt in the sun that shines from above
You are my everlasting love.

I'll no longer hear you laugh or cry
Or see you run and play
But in my dreams at night, my child
I still can hear you say,
"Mommy, I'm an angel now
And though I'm not in your arms
I am all around you
I will keep you safe from harm
When you feel a gentle breeze
Blow upon your skin
That's my gentle touch you're feeling
To show you where I've been
Although you cannot hold my hands
Or kiss my cheeks, you'll see,
If you look up high into the sky
The brightest star is me."

I'm There Inside Your Heart

Right now I'm in a different place,
And though we seem apart,
I'm closer than I ever was...
I'm there inside your heart.

I'm with you when you greet each day
And while the sun shines bright,
I'm there to share the sunsets, too...
I'm with you every night.

With you when the times are good
To share a laugh or two,
And if a tear should start to fall...
I'll still be there for you.

And when that day arrives
That we no longer are apart,
I'll smile and hold you close to me...

Forever in my heart.

~Mom~

Mom please listen to me
As I take the time to write.
I see parents struggling daily.
Their pain is such a fight...

All of us who have gone
And left the rest of you behind…
We’re ok. Mom, I promise…
Heaven is beautiful, and God is kind.

You used to tell me that one day
God would call and take you home.
You told me you’d make me strong,
So I could stand tall when I'm alone.

But things happen sometimes, Mom,
That does not go in our plans.
I wasn’t scared, Mom,
When God held out his hand.

I didn’t want to leave you,
I didn’t have time to say Good bye.
When the angels said, "Come with us"
There wasn’t time to question why.

I’ve watched you daily, Mom.
It hurts to see you cry.
I don’t want you to be unhappy,
Because you didn’t get to say Goodbye.

Tell the others what I’m telling you,
So many parents need to know..
That Earth was just a lay over;
We had another place to go.

I know you miss me, Mom,
I know your heart was broken in two.
But God really needed me
Because my earthly life was through.

I’m always alongside you…
I smile and touch your hair.
I whisper, "Mom, I love you", You just can’t see me there.
I’m the one who gently touches you
On your shoulder when you’re sad.
I’m Happy that you finally found
God again, and are no longer mad.

Tell the parents, Mom, for me,
That all of us kids are okay.
God had plans for our lives
When he called us home that day.

I love you, Mom, I always will
And remember I’m not that far away.
We’re going to be together again
When God calls out your name one day.

Never forget

Go ahead and mention my child
The one that died, you know
Don't worry about hurting me further
The depth of my pain doesn't show

Don't worry about making me cry
I'm already crying inside
Help me to heal by releasing
The tears that I try to hide

I'm hurt when you just keep silent
Pretending he doesn't exist
I'd rather you mention my child
Knowing that he has been missed

If you ask me how I'm doing
I might say, "Pretty good" or "Fine"
But healing is something on-going
know it will take a lifetime
